POoky3maQ!

There were two separate incidents that basically ruined my day.  I could have chosen to ignore but hey! Why should I backed down?!

Have you ever felt so pissed off that you somehow find murder is a perfectly acceptable solution to your problems due to anyone and everyone being so bloody annoying. Ever felt like you could kill someone or everyone in 1000 mile radius? –>ME

PART I

————————————————————–

My colleague and I found out our EU clients were observing Jan 6 as public holidays. So I researched and realised it was a religious festival in certain/most EU countries as well as southern Germany and US Virgin Island (& maybe some other places, on different dates) called “Epiphany Day”. To avoid any other future nonsensical Q&A, we decided to inform our UK colleague.

US- Dear OM, FYI. Most of European countries (including parts of Germany) are

observing Epiphany Day today except for Australia, Canada, UK and
US(except US Virgin Island).
Thanks.

OM-That’s funny, who told you that? {Trust me. I wasn’t yet pissed off here.}

US-Sorry if you found it funny. Apparently contacts from Italy, Spain,
Sweden etc claimed it is public holiday over there. So I googled for it.Please refer to the links below for more information.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_holidays_by_country#Italy
http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/common/epiphany
http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/australia/epiphany

{this is when I just realised even some parts of Australia also observes this public holiday.}

OM-Who spoke to people in Sweden, Spain and Italy that said that? I’m
honestly interested in finding out what businesses are shut.

In my direct experience Europe is not overly religious, it’s not common
to widely celebrate every single obscure religious day like perhaps they
might have 100 years ago. I’d say you would have to be extremely lucky
to get someone who celebrates “Epiphany day”.

{I still did not say anything even though he is being sarcastic here. In my opinion, EU people are a bit more conservative compared to anyone in the world. Not that it’s bad. Simply saying.}

US-Maybe we are lucky to actually speak to contact from (XXXX), (XXXX), (XXXX) and (XXXX) who observe Epiphany
Day. Maybe there are religious people out there after all. If it is not because of them we over here would have not known there is such “religious” festival.

{The XXXX are confidential. I was trying to be polite yet with a bit of sarcasm.}

OM-Well that’s interesting because no one here in the office seems to know
about it. We have Spanish, French and German people even Portuguese.

{It just showed that nincompoop wasn’t paying attention. UK doesn’t observe Epiphany Day.}

US- {Because of extremely terrible weather condition in the UK, we sent him this link.}

BTW, I think this might be of your interest.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html

OM- Yeah, it’s rather cold over here at the moment a little bit of snow but
nothing that will stop me getting to work. 🙂

{wottafcuk?! was he trying to imply that we’re not doing our work?OBVIOUSLY he thinks we over here are DUMB. More on the link attached above.}

US- Well that is because UK doesn’t observe Epiphany Day. Maybe that’s the reason why you people not aware of it. BTW, it doesn’t matter I’ve confirmed with (XXXX) that even Southern Germany also observe this religious festival. Anyways, we are leaving now and hopefully you are not going to be covered in 16inches of snow on your way home later. Take care.

{what we wanted to say was…”we know you’re a busy man and even if it’s 2012 DOOMSDAY, you’re glued to your seat in the company. And if we don’t hear from you tomorrow, we’ll look up in BBC just in case there is news saying you’re buried 16inches under the snow—FROZEN TO DEATH! But being us, we’re still polite ;)}

PART 2

————————————————————–

This OM NINCOMPOOP just won’t bugger off! Today, he was flooding my inbox with tons of emails when I sent back to him as below.

ME- Dear OM,

Appreciate if you could put these accounts in one email rather than separately so that I don’t missed them. Thanks.

{i was trying to get him to understand when…}

OM- Thanks, but I prefer it my way.

{wottafcuk?! the stupid nincompoop asked us to synchronize our personal spreadsheet (personal-for our own tracking/follow-ups) by saying he found it hard to handle 2 separate individuals. IT JUST SHOWS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE A BLOODY MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP SKILLS!!! fcuking bollocks…}

I just had to write all my rants. Can’t keep it tight in my chest anymore. Felt like tons of C4 about to burst!! You want to see the nincompoop?

p/s:: To those who doesn’t know what “Epiphany Day” is…Normally celebrated on Jan 6 (some on different dates though) also commonly known as welfth Night, Twelfth Day, Three Kings’ Day, or the Feast of Epiphany. It means “manifestation” or “showing forth”. It is also called Theophany (“manifestation of God”), especially by Eastern Christians.

WELL THE POINT HERE IS:: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHETHER IT IS WIDELY CELEBRATED OR NOT, IT IS STILL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN CERTAIN COUNTRIES (WHICH BASICALLY MEANS BUSINESSES ARE SHUT). e.g. BOXING DAY, DEC 26 IS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN UK & IRELAND BUT NOT IN OTHER COUNTRIES. DO PEOPLE “REALLY” CELEBRATE IT OR IS IT JUST SIMPLY ANOTHER PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO CLEAR UP LAST NIGHT(CHRISTMAS) DINNER LEFTOVERS?
